Pilates Method

pilates methodPilates ‘matwork’
Who is Pilates for?  Everybody!  Pilates is recommended for those recovering from back problems, weak abdominals (core stability), and poor posture.

Pilates is an ideal form of rehabilitation and for those with special needs.

Pilates is also an ideal additional exercise for runners, advanced fitness enthusiasts and dancers alike who will benefit from increased flexibility.

My aim is to teach an informal, enjoyable and above all, unique style of class.  A class that will become important to you.

It will become familiar but always different, often depending on time of day and group ability.

It is important to listen to your body and it will respond to you.  Progress takes time but the results are worth it.  I am fully committed to evolving the Pilates method an do encourage your questions.

You must understand your aim to achieve your goal.

Adapting the Pilates work to the ball creates wonderful and safe results.  This is a carefully developed mind/body programme designed to re-align the body, maintain good posture, build long lean muscles and establish abdominal and core strength from within.

Pilates ‘One to One’
To develop an understanding of the Pilates approach a ‘one to one’ is ideal.  It can be taken at home or at a venue to suit and take the form of a course booking or simply an individual session.

Subscriptions
Opt to enjoy an individual session for £5 or purchase a 10 session card for £40 saving you £1.00 each time – the sessions can be used at your convenience.  All that is asked is that you bring your card to each session to be stamped.

Own your own mat.  Although mats are provided having your own professional Pilates mat does enhance your enjoyment in class.

You can purchase a supasoft Pilates mat for £20.

Prior to commencing class...
Clients are screened and given individual advice, however as with all movement techniques you should consult your doctor (should you have any medical concerns) before commencing the programme.  This ensures that the correct approach is used for your needs.
